An inspiring international documentary about human ambition & the positive power of long distance running
In this documentary you get to see the enormous positive power of human ambition. Dutch documentary maker Gwen Jansen follows marathon runners from all over the world. 5 of them decided to run long distance runs as their solution facing a personal challenge. But each of those personal challenges are recognizable by many other people in the world. The challenges are universal. Wether it is beating poverty, obesitas, health issues, racism, depression or getting more social contacts. The key figures in de movie all decided to take action. In this case they all decided to run the New York marathon to turn things around and bring more positivity in their lives. We follow them in the documentary before, during and after the New York marathon. Will they succeed? How do they train for this? Why do they want this anyway? Why do they want to 'drop' so many miles? How did they experience it? Has it brought them what they thought? This documentary aims to 'positive' all those other people in the world who can use a positive energy boost. To activate people by showing them the strength of human ambition in combination with positivity. For Dutch filmmaker Gwen Jansen, marathon runners are beautiful examples of people who aim for the moon and embody the power of positivity. A pessimist can not really run 42,195 km in a row. Jansen: "I often see people with a lot of talent, but who don't have any drive of any kind anymore. They've seem to lost it somewhere somehow. They mainly seem to think about threats instead of chances, and so they can not really go 200% for something. That's too bad. Especially for themselves, but surely for their environment. With this movie I want to give them an extra positive boost. It's so much more fun to go through life with a positive mindset. And you can reach more than you think. But it all starts within yourself."
